THE POSITION

Fashion merchandiser on the apparel, accessories and leather goods side track analysing market trends, production costs, and previous sales. Experienced on the retail side, they will be responsible for tracking consumer trends and the latest styles to determine store inventory and to price clothes. In addition to arranging the receiving and storage of apparel, the retail merchandiser will supervise the creation of visual displays and the overall appearance of the store. Our client Merchandiser should be the most powerful employee within the company, and would have large bottom-line and personnel management responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Achieving sales objectives and optimizing the profit margin of the business in Asia Pacific region for Women’s collections
2. Formulating merchandising strategies, objectives and policies for the Asia Pacific region
3. Developing business plan, sales forecast, and OTB in relation to the HQ’s objectives
4. Preparing the business through market study, competition analysis, product development and pricing review.
5. Monitoring sales performance and selling through rate to ensure the right merchandise and right quantities are in the right locations.
6. Managing and reviewing the stock levels including old-season merchandise to ensure inventories are maintained at a reasonable level
7. Supervising the regional merchandising team including RTW, Leather goods, Shoes and Accessories
8. Conducting market/ POS visits liaising with the regional team and retail operations to ensure that guidelines are followed to maintain a global brand image
9. Analyzing and updating trends in different regional markets
10. Working together with Visual Merchandising for the best displays in the stores

PERSON SPECIFICATION (Essential Personal Abilities/Aptitudes/Skills)

- Bachelor degree in Fashion Business or related discipline. Master degree is preferable
- Minimum of 10 years in multi-country Asia experience in luxury goods and retail industry
- Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
- Fluent in English is a must; Mandarin and Cantonese are an advantage
- Superior skills in the analysis of sales statistics and market data
- Strong fashion sense and creativity
- Results Oriented and able to work under pressure on tight deadlines
- Previous experience in training and team building
- Energetic, highly pro-active, analytical thinking, supportive and self motivated.
- Self responsible and disciplined. Pragmatic
- Open to travel frequently
