| China Retail Director – Based in Shanghai China Retail Director – Based in Shanghai THE POSITION This is an exciting position presenting the opportunity for developing a high end Luxury brand in China. Responsibilities include coordinating the distribution of the brand through established channels as well as expanding the business in the region. The China Retail Director is responsible for the sales and marketing activities. He or she must ensure that the brand is strengthened and developed according to the Brand HQ strategy and that all the sale channels are sustained and developed. ________________________________________ THE COMPANY Our Client is one of the leading luxury fashion houses in the world. With a tradition that is a reference of elegance in the industry and besides having only the best designers developing its collections, it has become over the years also a reference in cosmetics and perfume industries. ________________________________________ PRIMARY OBJECTIVES • Shares yearly objectives - agreed upon with the Retail Director – with Store Managers and ensures constant monthly follow-up, proposing and implementing possible corrections in case of variance • Guarantees regular presence in Stores in order to support Store Managers and Staff • Implements ways to boost store’s sales and maximize sales during full margin periods to ensure that all discount policies are properly followed during regular as well as sale periods. • Supervises accurate stock levels and appropriate product mix by monitoring inventory and co-operating with the merchandising team • Works with the Visual Merchandising team to implement and monitor corporate merchandising programs, in line with Corporate Standards. Supports Store Managers on the maintenance of shop windows and display taking into consideration stock levels, climatic conditions and Store location. • Ensures that all policies about Product Handling (product delivery, stocking, packaging, ODG and defective, etc.) are properly implemented • Constantly minimizes Loss Prevention issues by supporting Store Staff Customer Relationship Manager • Ensures development of the customer portfolio and specifically of VIP Clients • Promotes “one to one relationship” with VIP clients • Constantly communicates the importance of the Shopping Experience to Store Staff and monitors Customer Satisfaction. Provides coaching on a daily basis in order to guarantee appropriate standards. Takes actions to improve customer services and handles customer complaints if required • Supervises and supports “in-store events” in line with PR Department and provides feedback to Regional Office Store Staff • Selection and recruitment of appropriate Store staff in cooperation with Store Managers and HR Department. • Delivers on-site educational programs for continuous development of the staff and seasonal update for inter-departmental personnel where and as required. • Provides ongoing feedback and evaluation of performance. • Supervises adequate roster and administers leave application – prepared by the Store Manager – to ensure adequate staffing at Store Level. • Ensure a standard uniform to all staff and coordinate the order each season. Procedure • Communicates the Company’s policies, memorandums and general information to the staff to ensure alignment with Corporate Standards and among Stores. • Ensures that all policies & procedures (inventory, bargain sales, product handling etc.) are properly implemented at Store Level. Management of Inventory • Ensure the planning, management and control of activity connected with inventories providing appropriate reports in collaboration with the Functions involved. (Logistic, IT, Finance, Stores) • Ensure the definition of goods placement and rationalization of spaces in collaboration with the Logistic Department. • Ensure the standard organization for all stockrooms. Provide support and training for all store stock manager and all staff on existing product and stock management procedures and their updating. Ensure their implementation. • Implementation and supervision of “Return of end of season product”. House Keeping - Maintenance • Ensures an impeccable image inside and outside Stores, promptly intervening upon necessity • Constantly monitors Service levels of the market/competitors in order to propose possible interventions • Coordinates time - specific interventions between I.T. Dept. and stores concerning possible SAP or cash till malfunction Reporting Supplies monthly quality and quantity reports about: • Sales trends and budget variations • Activities implemented in the Areas (selection, training, meetings, openings) • Competitor’s analysis (new openings, events, product, etc.) • Information concerning social and cultural events • Regularly communicates all important market information to management Management coordination for Store openings • Definition and preparation of work plan concerning the activities connected with store openings. • Implementation of work plan in collaboration with pertinent entities and departments. • Verification and supervision of all the activities connected with the work plan Store opening management: delivery planning in cooperation with Retail Logistics Asia Pacific and local. • Coordinate and control the design of the stockrooms layout, based on their peculiarities and of sales requirements in cooperation with Engineering, Logistic and Retail Department. ________________________________________ PERSON SPECIFICATION (Essential Personal Abilities/Aptitudes/Skills) . • Bachelor's Degree is a must. MBA is preferable. • Fluent English is a must. Mandarin is of big advantage. • Superior skills in the analysis of market data • Down to earth able to work independently in full synchronization with headquarters • Analytical thinking, highly proactive, supportive and self-motivated. • Pragmatic. • Solid communication skills • Proven track record in good human relations • Ability to coordinate with HQ GMM to cater to various regions in Asia • Deep market knowledge • Willing to travel. ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE • Minimum 10 years experiences in luxury goods and retail industry • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills • Network building skills • Proven record of sales and marketing exposure in retail industry with European brands • Team building and training • Effective negotiating, planning and business development skills • Solid experience in Sales & Marketing • Solid negotiation skills. ________________________________________ THE PACKAGE & TRAINING Our client offers a very competitive package and training.
