DDESCRIPTION
The Asia Pacific (AP) IB Regional Technology Auditor must be a mature and experienced professional who possesses outstanding leadership skills, strong relationship management capabilities and is knowledgeable of the businesses and technologies in which the IB engages in across AP. The position reports jointly to the Global IB Technology Auditor and the AP Regional IB Auditor.

This position requires an individual who can actively partner with global and regional management, colleagues and regulators, and is an outstanding manager who can effectively recruit and develop high quality audit professionals.

The AP IB Regional Technology Auditor is part of the Asia IB Audit leadership team, which helps direct approximately 35 regional IB auditors. The AP IB Regional Technology Auditor manages a team of 4 technology auditors located in India, Singapore, Japan and Hong Kong. Working closely with the AP IB Regional Auditor and the Global IB Technology Auditor, the person will assess the technology risk of the Firm’s activities in AP and ensure that an appropriately focused program of audit coverage is executed to help enhance the management of operational risk across all AP IB locations and businesses. There is a need to keep abreast of IB business activity and to dynamically adjust the audit plan to reflect the changing risk profile of the region, as well as identify emerging trends and issues, and actively influence and work with management to address such issues.

The AP IB Regional Technology Auditor needs to provide value-added audit services by developing trusted partnerships with the regional IB business executives, global colleagues, regional regulators and staff and must possess the ability to influence change which balances global and regional perspectives. The AP IB Regional Technology Auditor is directly responsible for maintaining relationships with senior regional technology management, as well as be an active member of key business committees and forums.

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Coach and manage a team of 4 audit professionals.
2. Partner with the AP IB lead financial auditors to strategically assess the regional and global IB audit plan, oversee the execution of the regional plan and align IB Technology resources in providing risk focused audit coverage.
3. Execute the AP IB Technology audit plan and drive end-to-end completion of audit assignments.
4. Periodically lead and execute strategic audit reviews and other initiatives, which enhance the overall impact of the team.
5. Partner with the AP IB lead financial auditors and technology auditors in the early identification of emerging control issues, reporting them to the regional business executives and influencing change.
6. Encourage and promote a culture of integration amongst the Asia and global financial and technology (e.g. IB and Global Technology Infrastructure) audit teams.
7. Partner with AP IB Information Risk Management and external parties (e.g. external auditors and regulators) on an ad hoc basis.
8. Write audit reports in English with minimal intervention by senior Audit management.
9. Establish a culture that encourages integrity, diversity, respect, excellence and innovation.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelors degree in Technology, Accounting, Finance or related discipline, Masters Degree, Technology certification or Accounting certification.
- 8+ years of financial services business, operational, risk or technology experience (prior audit experience preferred) and broad understanding of the Asia region and its regulatory environment.
- Existing understanding of the businesses the IB conducts across its operating locations or ability to quickly learn.
- Strong understanding of technology processes (e.g. change management, business resiliency, etc.) and application controls for IB front, middle and back office systems.
- Experience with infrastructure platforms including operating systems (e.g. UNIX) and databases (e.g. Sybase).
- Extensive knowledge of system development life cycle concepts.
- Ability to quickly learn a complex, distributed computing environment.
- Solid understanding of internal control concepts and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent communication (i.e. verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with ability to present complex and sensitive issues to senior management, and influence change.
- Strong management skills, enthusiastic, self motivated, effective under pressure and willing to take personal responsibility/accountability.
- Works well individually and in teams, shares information, supports colleagues and staff.
- Ability to frequently travel throughout the region and as needed to Europe and NY.
